Just a quick note to summarize what has been blogged this week in regards to Ceph. Earlier this week, Dmitry Ukov of Mirantis wrote a great comparative blog called “Object Storage approaches for OpenStack Cloud: Understanding Swift and Ceph“. Dmitry’s blog explores the architectures of OpenStack‘s Swift object store and Ceph.
Considering that Ceph offers object, block and file storage in one unified platform and that it is not just an object store, Ceph fanatic and our community people person Ross Turk wrote a response blog called “More than Just an Object Store“. Ross’s objective here was to provide greater detail on the key components of Ceph and to ensure that there was no mis-understanding of Ceph’s capabilities.
